How They Saw It
A GLEAM - BUT IT SOON FADES

Halesowen 2, Bromsgrove 4

After pulling out of a two-goal deficit and seeming on the verge of forging ahead. Halesowen Town went down before their own supporters.

Rovers deserved their 2-0 interval lead with goals by Hackett and Prosser.

Halesowen's reshuffled attack with David Timmigton back at cantre-forward, was slow to settle down. but at the start of the second half they really got to grips with the Rovers' defence.

Anderson scored the first goal, Hooper made a desperate save from Fullwood then Williams headed the equaliser.

But for the second time in the match, Brown the Halesowen goalkeeper fumbled the ball and Hackett scored his second goal.

Norman Deeley, the old Wolves star, hit the fourth goal with a great volley.
