HALESOWEN HAD THEIR REVENGE

Halesowen fully atoned for a home defeat they had suffered in March when they visited Bromsgrove.

The Rovers hopes of becoming League cup winners took a couple of nasty knocks when two of their players were injured.

Right-back Day went off after an hour with knee trouble and was followed some 10 minutes later by skipper Norman Deeley who had taken a knock on an ankle. Day did not return and although Deeley did, neither is a certain starter against Boston in the final tomorrow.

Halesowen were two goals up in half an hour. The first came when a corner kick glanced off Hooper's hands and left-winger Fullwood netted. Tony Cottrill got a second with Bromsgrove defence brought wide open by a quick pass from McGrath.

Nicholls headed through for the Rovers close on the interval. Feeling crept into the game during the second half and the Rovers were down to nine men at one stage. Fullwood scored Halesowen's third from a centre by Cottrill.
