A winger who played for the Rovers from 1945-49. Described as being slightly built, very fast with a fierce swerving shot in each foot.
In his time at the Rovers he won a Birmingham Combination winners medal and two Worcester Senior Cup winners medals.
After playing in 3 war-time games for Chelsea as a guest, he was brought to the Rovers by Chelsea team-mate Francis "Shunt" Harris, who hailed from Sidemoor and was Rovers manager after hostilities had ceased and football resumed.
He made his debut in August 1945 and was a regular in the side until 1949.
During this time he was good enough to be approached to play for West Bromwich Albion, and also was invited to a trial by Tottenham Hotspur in August 1947. But he opted to stay part-time with the Rovers and keep the stability of full time employment. This was due to long standing health issues with a perforated duodenum. Sadly, this ailment caused his premature retirement from the game midway through the 1949/50 season at the age of just 25.
