A half back who first appeared for Rovers in May 1947. He was from Northfield and he had been playing for Hereford.
He was used as a stand in player at the tail end of what was a very successful season for the Rovers when they won the Birmingham Combination, and the Worcestershire Senior Cup and reached the final of the Birmingham Senior Cup. Ron played in the final of the Birmingham Senior Cup when Rovers went down 2-1 to Wellington Town Reserves.
In the 1947/48 season he was used very much as a utility player, appearing on the left wing, at cente half and also full back. He played right back in the final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup when Rovers beat Hereford United 3-0.
Unable to get in the side in the 1948/49 season he joined Halesowen in October 1948.
