Harry began his career at Cleator Moor Celtic in 1934, before joining West Bromwich Albion in 1935. He made 17 first team appearances for the Baggies in 1937.
After the war he joined Rovers in October 1945. He moved to Northampton Town at the start of November 1945. He went on to play 76 first team games for the Cobblers, scoring 2 goals between 1946 and 1948.
He also played a few games for Rovers at the start of the 1946/47 season whilst he was a Northampton player.
He returned to the Rovers at the start of the 1949/50 season. He started the season as an inside forward before ending the season in the half back line. It was a fine season for the Rovers who finished as runners-up in the Birmingham Combination.
He broke his finger in the local derby against Redditch in March 1951.
