" I played for Bromsgrove in the 1959/60 season and to January of the next season. Had a change of job that moved me away from the area.
I played in every match from September 1959 through to the end of the season. We won the Birmingham league, Birmingham Towns Cup and Worcestershire Senior Cup beating Worcester City in the semi final at St George’s Lane and Hereford United in a two leg cup final. 2-0 down at half time in the first leg at Edgar St but pull it back to draw. The second leg at Victoria Ground was 1-1 at full time. We won 2-1 after extra time. I played at right full back. Told by Eric Jones the manager not to go over the half line but to cover for Arthur Wainwright the centre half when he went up front for corners. Haha. Great times." Tony Salisbury (2024)
