1882-1960
A left back who gave fine service to the Rovers for a decade at the start of the twentieth century.
He made his debut for the Rovers against Brades Park in the Birmingham & District Junior League in December 1903 and he remained a fixture in the team until the end of the season.
He was briefly captain at the start of the 1904/05 season, before the committee decided to give the job to J. Caldicutt. He was virtually ever present during a very successful campaign where they were runners-up in the Birmingham & District Junior League.
He continued to be a regular in the back line in the 1905-11 seasons, regaining the captaincy at the start of the 1908/09 campaign.
He played in the final of the Birmingham Junior Charity Shield, played at Austin Motors Ground, Northfield on 18 April 1910. Rovers won 2-0.
In December 1910 he became the third Rovers player to reach the 200 appearances milestone.
In April 1912 he was presented with a pair of bronzes by Mrs Stiles, Landlady of the Rovers Headquarters, the Roe Buck Inn, on the occasion of his marriage, and as a mark of recognition of the good services he has rendered to the Rovers Club.
In December 1912, he played in goal for Rovers, against Nuneaton Town, when regular keeper Willmore failed to turn up. They lost 6-0.
Following an injury, he lost his place in the side, and his last game for the Rovers was against Birmingham Trams on 4 January 1913.
