A forward, with a very decent goal scoring record. He made his debut for the Rovers against Leamington Town in January 1905.
He broke his arm playing for the reserves against Droitwich in February 1906 and missed the remainder of the season.
He was, however, a regular in the forward line throughout the 1906/07 campaign and was in fact joint top scorer with Frank Stiles with 17 goals.
He made only occasional appearances in the 1907/08 and 1908/09 campaigns.
In the 1910/11 campaign he was playing for Birmingham Trams, but played for the Rovers against Bournbrook on Boxing day 1911.
He once again returned to the Rovers in January 1913, when he was a regular in the side for the rest of that campaign, playing his final game for the Rovers against Cannock Town on 26 April 1913.
