He was the brother of regular Rovers half back J. Miller and occasional outside right W. Miller. He joined at the start of the 1912/13 Birmingham Combination campaign. He had previously been playing for Handsworth.
He was unable to gain a regular place in the side and he played for Sparkhill Avondale, before returning to the first team in January 1913. He played in back, half hack and forward lines during the season.
He was offered at trial at Shrewsbury at the start of the 1913/14 season.
