Described in the Bromsgrove Messenger as a "sturdy right back". He joined the Rovers at the start of the 1919/20 Birmingham Combination campaign. He had previously played for Selly Park United.
He was chosen to play for a Birmingham Combination select XI to play champions Cradley Heath St Lukes in an end of season match.
He lost has place in the side early in the 1920/21 campaign.
