He made his debut against Halesowen Town, in the Birmingham Combination, on 4 September 1920. Initially he played as a half back, before moving to the back line. He was sometimes captain in this campaign.
He missed just the one game at left back in the 1921/22 campaign, where he also played in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final against Stourbridge, where Rovers lost 1-0.
He was once again a regular during the first half of the 1922/23 campaign, before losing his place to W. Weaver. He played his last game for the Rovers against Round Oak on 25 November 1922.
