A half-back who made his debut against Dudley Bean Athletic, in the Birmingham Combination on 18 September 1920.
He was chosen to represent the Birmingham Combination against Rugby on 29 March 1921.
He was a regular in the half back line in the 1920-22 period, when he also played in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final against Stourbridge in 1921/22, where Rovers lost 1-0. He was also captain during the 1921-22 campaign.
He lost his place in the half-back line in November 1922, and played his last game for the Rovers, after a long absence from the side, on 21 April 1923, against Newhall Swifts.
