A centre forward or inside left who made his debut on Good Friday 25 March 1921, against Talbot Stead, in the Birmingham Combination.
He had a trial for the junior International side that season.
He made the inside left position his own in the 1921/22 campaign, when he also played in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final against Stourbridge, where Rovers lost 1-0.
He lost his place in the side early in the 1922/23 campaign, but regained it towards the end of the season.
His appearances in the front line were limited in 1923/24 and he played his final game for the Rovers against Walsall Wood on 10 November 1923.
