...Cotton profile

A diminutive left sided player who made his first appearance for Rovers in November 1938 at left back, he had been playing in the Rovers Reserve side in the Redditch & District League. He was soon moved into the forward line at outside left.

Whilst playing for the Reserves he was selected to represent the Redditch Junior League in a match against Redditch Town in December 1938. He was also warned by the Worcester F.A. as to his future conduct and fined 5 shillings for fighting in a Redditch Cot Fund cup tie against Studley Rovers.

His appearances in the 1939/40 campaign were limited, possibly because he was required to undertake wartime duties under the Military Training Act.

He served in the Second World War. After which he played in the 1945/46 season for Bromsgrove Amateurs, who also played their home fixtures at the Victoria Ground. He returned to the Rovers ranks in April 1946 for a single game.
