A former football League player, who played who played a couple of games at half back for Rovers in February 1936.
He played non-league football in the Midlands playing for Moxley White Star, Darlaston, Lichfield City, Wednesbury Old Athletic and Willenhall before joining Sunderland and playing top flight football between 1924 and 1926. He moved to Grimsby Town in 1926, before ending his Football League career with Notts County in 1931. He made 152 appearances in the Football League and scored 52 goals
He then returned to non-league with Worcester City, Hereford United and Cannock Town before joining Rovers.
