(16.1.1904-9.1997)

He was an inside left who joined Rovers early in the 1928/29 season. He had previously played for Barnt Green United and Worcester City.

He was unlucky to pull a muscle in his second game for the club and was out of action for five weeks, before easing himself back into action with Wychbold Juniors. Before he returned to first team action he transferred to Redditch Town in December 1928. He made a brief return to Bromsgrove in April 1929, before again playing for Redditch in the 1929/30 season.

During that season he scored 35 goals for Redditch, appeared in the Birmingham Combination select XI and appeared in a Junior International against a Scottish Representative side. At the end of the season his services were sought by Leicester City, but he remained at Redditch.

In the 1930/31 season whilst still at Redditch he scored twice in a Worcestershire Senior Cup final victory over Birmingham League Champions Cradley Heath St Lukes. He scored 39 goals for Redditch that season.

In the summer of 1931 he took up cricket and played for Redditch Wednesday XI. According to the Bromsgrove Messenger he had played in the same school side as Gloucestershire and England cricket legend Wally Hammond.

He was still at Redditch in the 1932/33 season, where a broken collar bone, in a match against Dudley, put him out for the season at the start of April.

He re-joined Rovers in March 1934. He was a regular at outside left in the 1934/35 campaign, although injury largely put him out of action between January and March.

He was in and out of the side in the 1935/36 campaign. In a game against Shirley in November he sustained an injury to a muscle over his heart and was ordered by doctors to take complete rest.

Although he briefly returned to the side in December, that was his final appearance in a Rovers shirt.
