A centre forward who joined Rovers from Redditch Town in March 1934. It was reported he was on the books of Aston Villa the previous season. He had also previously played for Cradley Heath St. Lukes.
He had a fine first full season for the Rovers, when he was leading scorer with 22 goals, including 3 hat-tricks.
He struggled to maintain a place in the side in the 1935/36 campaign.
