An outside left who joined Rovers in October 1924. He was an amateur, who was, at the time, a member of staff at Bromsgrove School. He had previously played for Oxford City in the Isthmian League and he was an Oxford Blue. He also refereed in local football.
In January 1925 he was chosen to represent the Birmingham F.A. in a match against the Liverpool F.A. at Goodison Park. Birmingham triumphed 2-1.
In March 1925, he also played for Bromsgrove Crusaders in a Rugby Union match against Saltley College.
