A left back who joined Rovers in September 1927. He had previously played for Burton Town. In the 1926/27 season he played for Webheath St. Phillips in the Redditch League.
He was a regular in the side and sometimes captain in the second half of the 1927/28 season.
He started the 1928/29 season in the side, but lost his place in September.
After leaving Rovers he was player manager at Burton Town and also played for Port Vale, although he did not make the first team.
He joined the Rovers committee in February 1938 and was also appointed coach to "take charge of the team off the field on match days"
He dusted off his boots to make an appearance as a emergency cover in March 1938, almost a decade after his last appearance for the Rovers.
