A full back, who joined Rovers at the start of the 1929/30 season. He had served in the Royal Air Force.

He established a successful partnership in the back line with S. Barratt in what was a poor season for Rovers, but where the defensive performances were often praised in match reports.

He was captain at the start of the 1930/31 season. After playing a match against Walsall LMS in September he suffered throat trouble and needed to have an operation and he spent 3 weeks in hospital.

He played one more game for Rovers in November 1930, but that was the end of his Rovers career.
