L. "Sandy" Webster was a half back from Clent who joined Rovers as a 19 year old in February 1930, under player-coach Frank Moss. He had been playing local football with Kidderminster St. Barnabus. He had had a trial with Nottingham Forest.

He was sometimes unavailable to play for Bromsgrove, preferring to turn out for St Barnabus.

At the end of the season he took part in trials for a Worcestershire Amateur side for a place on their American tour. He did not make the side.

He had a trial with Aston Villa in August 1930.

He was in and out of the side during the 1930/31 season.
