Peter Copeland MacPherson was a inside left who joined Rovers at the start of the 1937/38 season. He was from Scotland.

His career began in Junior Scottish football with Shotts Battlefield and Dalkeith Thistle. He then joined Hibernian, where he won a Scottish Second Divison title in the 1932/33 season.

He had a handful of Football League appearances for Barnsley, Southport and New Brighton between 1933 and 1934.

He also played in France for Le Havre and for Portadown in the Northern Irish League where he won a Gold Cup medal in 1933/34.

In the 1936/37 season he played for Dudley Town. It is reported in the five seasons before he joined Rovers he had scored 121 goals.

His stay at Rovers was short. He left to joined Shirley Town in October 1937.
