An outside left who joined Rovers at the start of the 1938/39 season.
He began his career with Rushall Olympic. He moved to Cannock Town before joining West Bromwich Albion in 1930. He never played in the first team.
After leaving Albion in 1931 he had spells with Milwall (again never making the first team), Cannock Town, Dudley Town and Wellington Town before joining Barnsley in 1935. He played 13 matches in the Second Division of the Football League, scoring 4 goals.
He then returned to non-league football with Dudley Town. He played for Cradley Heath and Stafford Rangers in the 1937/38 season before he joined Rovers.
