William T. Jones was a diminutive outside right who joined Rovers at the start of the 1939/40 season. He was from West Bromwich and began his career with Smethwick Highfield.

After a handful of games with Rovers he played war-time football for Birmingham, making his debut against Northampton in March 1940 after he had made a good impression in a boys trial game. He returned to the Rovers ranks for one final game in April 1940.
